The Challenge

The main challenge in creating FITO- the fitness platform, was creating an interface that serves the needs of two main personas with different needs. FITO provides a seamless experience, in order to answer the users goals: find a fitness activity or find potential trainees.

The main goal of this platform is to keep the users engaged in the platform by proving them a smooth, simple and elegant user experience.

The Solution

FITO is a online fitness marketplace, where the user can workout online in multiple activity domains. This concept was born during COVID-19 quarantine ,while the public was not allowed to exercise outside or at fitness clubs.

Many fitness clubs switched to online classes, and they needed a solution for online scheduling. The current do solutions the exists in the market does not provide a good user experience and suffers from a lack of UI and low conversion rate. I decided to create a new platform which will connect between trainers and trainees, and will replace local fitness clubs.

The Solution

In addressing the identified issues, we prioritized transparency and relevance in our data presentation, while enhancing user control. Our solution involved introducing additional capabilities to our product

User research

Personas

I've studied about the potential users by doing a user research, since the product is designed for both trainers and class participants (trainees), I had to come up with two personas. These personas defined what user wishes to accomplish in the platform, and I’ve set a few goals to guide me in the design process:

Efficiency – Since this product is mainly targeting busy audience, rather it’s the users that only want to know their daily workout is booked, or the trainers that want to schedule weekly or monthly classes, it’s all about efficiency.

Incentives oriented – This platform should be fun, simple and easy to use, but also point out the value for both trainers and trainees.

Simple and intuitive design –  I kept the design simple to use, consistency with reasonable hierarchy.

Style Guide

The Trainee Persona

Schedule a class - the main trainee screen in the system.

The classes are displayed according to the hours, and in each class is displayed in the class type and duration, the trainer, his rating, level and price.

The user can search for a specific class or trainer in the determination tab or he can filter for class.

I identified the few filters people use the most and displayed them comfortably in the horizontal toolbar. Anything else is tucked under the ‘More’ dropdown.

In the mobile - I've made the filters visible and easy to use in one click by separating the filters the user uses the most, from the actual filtering.

While clicking on a class, a new screen opens with an explanation of the class, the trainer, with the main action - register for the class. the user can also see the trainer schedule, send him a message, read the reviews or share.

Upcoming

15 minutes before class, the user get a message that he can get into the video class.

The trainer persona

Trainer Calendar

In this screen, the trainer can schedule a new class, invite trainees to scheduled classes, see who booked for his classes and send them messages.

On mobile the classes displayes in a monthly, weekly and daily view.

Activity

The activity dashboard is designed to encourage the trainer to use the platform. The dashboard displays the bottom line, how much earned, and other income and engagement related stats.

Inbox

The trainer can invite his regular trainees to come to his new class, sends trainees a message before classes, if they need to bring any equipment, and he can ask new trainees about their backgrounds.
